This Memorial Award was instituted by the Centre in the year 1996 at the instance of Shri Jitendra Nath Sarma and Mrs. Mrinalini Sarma in memory of their eldest son Satyendra Sarma. The Centre presents this annual Award to the best Engineering Graduate of Assam Science and Technology University.
